Things are moving along at the new store. I’ve been in for about 3 weeks. I am fortunate that the landlords did a lot of work before I signed the lease so I don’t have much to do in regards to the physical structure at the store. Also because it is an old house, I’m opting to use more furniture like pieces rather than traditional store displays. I did luck out and got three small slat-wall display units from a local going-out-of-business sale (hope they aren’t cursed!) Currently they are a deep, rich, magenta/hot pink but I have the paint and sprayer ready and waiting for a weather appropriate day to fix that. My Dad is also building me a fabulous three-tiered fabric display that he will be delivering later this week.
The UPS man keeps bringing box after box of stuff and I’m like a kid at Christmas opening them and seeing what is in each one. The fun is always tempered by the fact that it also means I have to enter each item into my new handy-dandy Quickbooks software. (Oh and pay the invoice too, that’s never fun.)

The two classroom/workspaces need a lot of organizing. I have lists of clear tote box sizes needed for all the different “stuff” that needs to be put away in there.

The Sewing Room is really “cozy” but I think it will be fine for smaller classes. Full capacity classes may have to be moved out into the larger common space.
Stuff I still need to do:

Hey Beth, I’m enjoying the progress report. I know it must be a little overwhelming right now. I think your timing will be good. The weather should be nice when you are ready to open. People will be out and about. Keep plugging away.
