Birdie Sling
(3hrs. $40 + materials & pattern)
Make Amy Butler’s latest handbag pattern using your choice of fabrics.
Materials:
1 1/3 yd. 45” fabric for main bag
1 1/3 yd. 45” fabric for top bands and handles
1 1/3 yd. 45” fabric for lining
3 yds. 20” wide light wt. woven fusible interfacing
½ yd. 44” wide fusible fleece
1 spool coordinating all-purpose thread
***Due to the number of steps in this pattern, it is required that you purchase your pattern and fabric and cut out all your pieces prior to class. If you need assistance contact Beth at the store and she’ll help you.
Wine & Gift Bags
(2hrs. $20 + *materials)
Here is a fast and easy holiday gift idea. Make up to four gift bags for wine or other holidays gifts out of one yard of fabric.
Materials: (*Project kits will be available)
One yard of cotton fabric
One Spool Coordinating grosgrain or satin ribbon (½ or ¾” wide)
1 spool matching all-purpose thread
Yo-Yo Animals
(3hrs. $40 + materials & pattern)
Fabric yo-yos are a great way to use up your miscellaneous bits of fabric. They can be used to decorate clothing and accessories. One of the most popular uses for yo-yos is to make fabric animals. In this class we’ll construct the stuffed animal head and learn how to string together our yo-yos to make the bodies and limbs.
Materials:
A selection of cotton fabric scraps. Enough to make 80 6” squares
1 spool matching all-purpose thread
1 spool extra strong thread - button thread is recommended
Embroidery floss and small felt scrap for face details
Hand embroidery needles
It is required that you pre-make at least 50-75 large size yo-yos prior to class. A Clover®
Yo-Yo Maker is recommended but not required.
Moda Holiday Table Runner

This bright and cheerful holiday panel from Moda Fabrics goes together quick for a great holiday table runner. Perfect for a last minute gift or new holiday decoration for your holiday celebrations.

Yo-Yo Holiday Decorations
(1 hr. $15 + materials)
In this quick class we’ll learn fast, fun and fresh ways to use up fabric scraps to make Yo-Yo tree ornaments and holiday garlands using the Easy Yo-Yo Makers by Clover.
Materials:
A variety of fabric scraps in holiday colors and patterns.

Sew by the Hour

This is for the sewer that would like to use our machines and other workroom equipment at their own pace and to work on their own projects. Master Mess Makers are available to give advice, but if you need extensive assistance, please check our schedule for classes or inquire about private lessons.
NEW! Teen Weekly Sewing Workshop
$35/week (2 hrs.) | Beginner Self-Paced | Tuesdays Starting June 10th | 3-5pm
There has been many requests for a class specifically for teens to learn to sew. So here it is! This class is in a workshop format to work around those crazy teen schedules. It is a self-paced class. You decide what you want to make and take as long as you need to make it. I’ll help you with all the techniques and offer guidance on project choice. You can come one week a month, every week or whatever fits into your schedule.
Saturday Sewing
$35 (2 hrs) | Self-Paced | Saturdays Starting June 28th | 2-4pm
Already know how to sew but just need a little help with a project? Pattern directions have you confused? Not quite ready to go it alone but want to work on your own project at your own pace? Join us on Saturday afternoons and we’ll help you out. Bring your pattern, materials and basic sewing supplies (use our machines or bring your own.) and we’ll provide the knowledge to get you sewing.
Eco-Tote
$40 (3 hrs.) | Beginner-Intermediate
A great easy project to get you started sewing. You’ll never have to decide between “paper and plastic” again after taking this class. Make your own eco-friendly shopping bag using fabrics of your choice. (class size: 4 students)
Pajama Pants
$40 (3 hrs.) | Beginner
Super comfy and ever so popular, pull-on lounge pants are the perfect first sewing project for everyone. You will learn basic pattern reading, layout and cutting, and garment construction techniques. Finished pants will have a combination elastic/drawstring waist.

Not Your Mom’s Apron
$40 (3 hrs.) | Beginner
This is a great first time project. Aprons are cool again! Make one for yourself or for a gift Yes, you can even make one for your Mom. (class size: 4 students)
Zip It Up
$35 (3 hrs.) | Intermediate
Learn how to put in a zipper while making a cute, lined, pencil pouch/make-up bag.

Needle Felting

You’ve seen the adorable Wool Pets™ kits in the store, now here’s your chance to learn this cool new craft. You will get to choose your own pet from our selection of kits (not included in the class fee). The kits contain enough materials to make more than one pet so you will be able to make more with your newly acquired skills.
Recycled Plastic Bag Tote
$20 (3hrs) | Beginner
Grab all those plastic grocery bags out from under the sink and make a cool new tote bag! We will fuse the bags together to make a sturdy plastic “fabric” and then sew it all together for a funky bag that is perfect for the beach or pool.
Tattoo Your Stuff
$35 (3hrs.) | Beginner
Learn the basic embroidery stitches to add that personal flair to clothes, towels, pillows and just about anything you can get a needle and floss through. We will be using your choice of Sublime Stitching ™ iron-on transfers (not included in the class fee).
French Memory Board
$35 (3 hrs.) | Beginner
In this class we will make a 12×12 fabric covered ribbon board to hold your favorite photos and other memorabilia.
Tie One On
$50 (4 hrs.) | Beginner-Intermediate
Make that special guy in your life a one-of-a-kind handmade necktie. This class is also a great opportunity to learn basic hand stitching skills along with a small amount of machine sewing.
Sport Coat Pocket Purse
$50 (4 hrs.) | Intermediate-Advanced
This shoulder bag is made by recycling an old men’s sport coat into a unique and fashionable accessory. It can be personalized even more with the addition of buttons, yo-yos, or embroidery. Beth designed this bag herself and will guide you through the entire process.
Make a Mess with Us
$5/hour
Have a non-sewing craft project that needs more room or makes too much mess for your home craft room? Use our Messy Room to spread out and make all the mess you want (and we’ll clean up after you!) Limited advice and assistance from our Master Mess Makers is available. If you need more help or assistance, check our schedule for a class or inquire about a private lesson.
Junior & Teen Mess Maker Clubs
$20 (2 hours)
Join your friends or come and make some new ones for an evening of crafting fun. Each month we will explore a new art or craft. The class fee includes materials for the Make & Take project. 10% discount on additional materials/kits purchased to work on while here on club night.
2nd Fri of the month: 4th-6th grade
4th Fri of the month: 6th-9th grades
Space for Club Night participation is limited to 10 so reserve your space early!
Craft Klatch FREE!
Wednesdays 11am-1pm
Join other crafty Mess Makers on Tuesday mornings for crafts, conversation, and coffee (or tea if you prefer.) Bring your current project in process, a cup or mug and your sense of fun. I’ll provide the coffee and tea and a warm welcome!
Alien Abduction Nights FREE!
1st Thursdays 6pm-9pm
This is the chance to take control of your UFOs (Un Finished Objects) and make them fly right! Join other Mess Makers for fun and frivolity while we work on some of our “out of this world” projects. You be Scully, I’m Mulder.
CLASS REGISTRATION
Class Sizes are limited to ensure that you get the attention and learning time you deserve. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at sign-up. Full-payment is due on or before the first day of class. A supply list and class confirmation will be sent to you upon registration or may be picked up in the store. 10% store discount is given for all class supplies. All fees are payable by cash, check, Visa/MC/AMEX or debit.
